The Yomiuri Shimbun said, that Tokyo would heighten pressure on Pyongyang by enforcing limitations on the flow of people, commodities and money to North Korea. The move is aimed at pressuring North Korea in order to resolve problems that related to the abduction of Japanese nationals. The next step in this plan could be economic sanctions. The government will organize a subcommittee under the abduction task force at the Prime Minister's Office. It will consist of major figures from the National Police Agency, the Economy, Trade and Industry Ministry, the Justice Ministry, the Finance Ministry, the Financial Services Agency and the Japan Coast Guard. Subcommittee members will swap information to make better immigration controls and clamp down on illegal exports to and from North Korea. The Financial Service Agency will report to researchers financial transactions, which they consider suspicious. It’s such transactions as money laundering related to North Korea.
